ORANGE COUNTY ENGLISH TUTOR; UCSC TUTOR
Self-employed & Learning Support Services 2007-present
I have tutored college freshman, high school and elementary students for six years, helping students understand the importance of grammar, content, editing, and revision. I have crafted lesson plans towards writing and thinking improvement. I assisted students' writing in terms of crafting a better thesis, using transitions appropriately, and creating a fluid structure in order to compose effective papers. I simultaneously designed and managed a tutoring business off-campus and worked with Chinese foreign exchange and high school students. I motivated students while educating them in formal and informal essay writing. I also wrote a "Tutor Guide" that UC Santa Cruz now uses as a training manual for new English tutors.
